Spokesperson for Justice Not Jails, Stephen Enciso, spoke to 8CCC's Kate Lyons-Dawson about  an open letter addressed to the Finocchiaro Government in anticipation of the pepper spray trial launching on Monday September 1st. This is signed by a broad coalition of civil society organisations who are alarmed at the law-and-order policies introduced by the CLP Government. Included was an excerpt from a press conference where Minister Robyn Cahill spoke on this letter in the question part at an announcement on business innovation grants.

A regular vigil is being held on the road to Pine Gap military base by concerned local residents and organised by Mparntwe for Falastin, to highlight the connection between the Australian and US governments with the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Held every fortnight, each gathering is different depending on current news and events, visiting speakers and capacity, but generally consists of speeches, music and sharing picnic food. More than 60 people turned out on Sunday to stand in solidarity with other gatherings and marches held around the country. One of the voices was Declan Furber Gillick, an Arrernte playwright, artist, educator, performer, musician and socialist, who spoke about these connections and why Pine Gap is here.

Tennant Creek's five Community Living Areas (CLA) - Mulga, Wuppa, Tinkarli, Village and Marla Marla - are set to receive the keys to new community centres in the next four to six week.

Before that happens, Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation are conducting community consultation sessions in each CLA to develop plans for use to suit the residents of each CLA.

As Australian Dance Theatre landed in Alice Springs Mparntwe for their final leg touring Marrow, their Artistic Director Daniel Riley spoke to 8CCC's Kate Lyons-Dawson about the production at Araluen, the workshops they've presented with local schools and celebrating their 60th year. 

Created by Daniel Riley in collaboration with ADT’s Company Artists, senior Kaurna/Ngarrindjeri Elder Uncle Moogy Sumner AM, composer James Howard, Matthew Adey and Ailsa Patterson, Marrow was a response to the Voice Referendum and sees the company delve deeper into the falsehoods and alienation at the core of our shared history.
