Hot local talents The Wanted Gems joined 8CCC Big Brekky to share their exciting news of heading on tour through Nth Qld gigs with Pacific Avenue. Thanks to some quick talking by band member Alex, Pacific Avenue band asked him, Micaela and Madison to support their shows in Rockhampton, Cairns and Townsville. Epic effort and financing to get there from the remote centre, Mparntwe, but ready to bring their music to new audiences.

Spokesperson for Justice Not Jails, Stephen Enciso, spoke to 8CCC's Kate Lyons-Dawson about  an open letter addressed to the Finocchiaro Government in anticipation of the pepper spray trial launching on Monday September 1st. This is signed by a broad coalition of civil society organisations who are alarmed at the law-and-order policies introduced by the CLP Government. Included was an excerpt from a press conference where Minister Robyn Cahill spoke on this letter in the question part at an announcement on business innovation grants.
