Pastors Matt Adams and Kyle Brent discuss the need for the PCA to unite in our use of language regarding official titles. Currently in the PCA there are many congregations who address unordained men and women as "deacon" or "pastor," despite our Book of Church Order using those titles in a technical, official sense. Item 1 would explicitly limit the use of those titles to refer to ordained men only.
