In The Longest battle Emma Martins chats with people who have gone through a similar life changing situation to her own when Emma caught a virus in 2013 which completely changed her life for ever. 

The virus that Emma caught in Vietnam caused a brain aneurysm which in turn has severely affected Emma’s eyesight.

In the final episode of The Longest Battle on RNIB Connect Radio Emma is chatting with former model, Heather Mills Who actually met Emma’s Father quite some years ago when Heather was a swimwear model.  

Heather has certainly had to battle with quite a lot throughout her life, From losing her leg, becoming internationally famous across the world, and subsequently dealing with a lot of media and press attention.

In The Longest Battle with Heather Mills we will hear first-hand from Heather about her early life, time living on the streets in London, her early modelling career, that time as a swimwear model when Heather met Emma’s Farther, her life before losing her leg and all about that accident in London when she lost her leg at the age of 25 in 1993. 

Heather will talk about how she coped with all the press attention after her accident, her charity work, her time on the ITV show 'Dancing on Ice' and how she battled through ice dancing with a Prosthetic leg, how she has coped through everything in her life and how her close friends have supported her through the highs and lows.

Heather also shares the advice she would give to someone else who might be going through a similar life changing situation to the one Heather went through when she lost her leg in that accident in 1993 at the age of 25.
