Carmichael is best known for having composed some of the most popular American songs of all time, including “Star Dust,” “Skylark,” “Georgia on my Mind” and “Heart and Soul”. He collaborated with many celebrated lyricists including Johnny Mercer. In this series, noted jazz historian, Richard Sudhalter provides insightful commentary and shares many wonderful Carmichael recordings from his personal collection.
