Amnesty International is soon launching their Write for Rights campaign. 

The advocacy group is calling on people from around the world to take part in the campaign aiming to free various people wrongly imprisoned.

This includes writing letters, social media posts, and signing petitions. 

To learn more, Liam spoke to Shaun Greaves, the executive director of Amnesty Aotearoa, about the campaign at home and around the globe. 

Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown has recently criticised Toi O Tamaki Auckland Art Gallery, calling it one of the most uneconomic buildings in the city. 

He also compared the institution's visitor numbers to that of a dairy, saying it wouldn’t be sustainable in the latter circumstances. 

That being said, Toi O Tāmaki focuses on various projects and systems beyond garnering sales and visitors for their exhibitions.

SAFE is urgently-renewing calls for a Commissioner for Animals, following the Ministry for Primary Industries’ investigation into heat stress-related deaths of several pigs on a livestock truck earlier this year.

The deaths occurred aboard a livestock truck and trailer operated by Te Awamutu company Osbourne’s Transport
