Have you heard the term disordered eating?

Today I talk to Emilia Thompson who is a nutrition coach who specializes in this area of nutrition

We talk about her own journey in body building and how it affected her relationship with food which was how she came to work in this area

We talk about the different ways that disordered eating can present themselves in people

How the fitness industry and most 6 or 8 week transformations are marketing and not health focused 

How you cant expect to change habits and beliefs that you have had for years in a short timeframe

That you can want to gain weight for aesthetic reasons and if you don't think thats true you need to ask yourself why you feel that way

That we don't exist in our bodies just to be commented on

Different things in the media that she finds toxic in the industry

That being healthy isn't just about eating chicken and brocoli and that you can still have date nights or pizza as part of a healthy lifestyle

How journalling can be a helpful start to identify potentional disordered eating practices and what is causing them
