What does it mean to empower women? What is the relationship between controlling (black) women's behavior because of "morality" and men's dedication to maintaining the global wealth gap between the sexes? How can we learn to embrace women who are open to their sexuality? Why do we make such a big deal out of "cursing" and "bad words"? This week, we talk about power, and how those in power never peacefully step away or share it. They are dedicated to maintaining their power at all costs, deny the fact that we have any power of our own, and will convince (some of) us it's for our own good. As always, our conversations about pop culture are about the big patterns in our society: sexism, racism, misogyny, oppression etc.. There's a tiny interlude where Cass just had a tipsy/munchies moment and we went down a Haitian food rabbit-hole, stick with us though, it was fun. Better yet, send us recipes on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly. Cass shares a recipe for marinad, Dassa is revenge-streaming WAP for the rest of the month, and Nessa's trying to spell her name on somebody's son.
