He is the author of: Logos and Existence: The Relationship of Philosophy and Theology in the Thought of Paul Tillich (New York and Berlin: Peter Lang, 1992).

A recent article, A Dangerous Method, A film Directed by David Cronenberg: An Extended Review was nominated for a Gradiva Award in 2013. Dr. Ferrell served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Religion and Health from 2007 to 2010. He lives with his wife, Joanna Luria Mintzer with whom he recently co-led a workshop sponsored by the C. G. Jung Foundation of New York entitled: The Experience of the Divine/Sacred after the Death of God: C. G. Jung and the Quest for an Individuated Spirituality.
He and Joanna also share their lives with two cats, Moxie and Luna, and an enlightened Shi’itzhu, Dharma, whom they both swear is the reincarnation of the Buddha.
