Janey : Do you have a date or something?

Lynne : No I wish, I just know I must be horny.

And there we go, folks.  There. We. Go.  It's horrible.  And it's horribly fantastic.  And we, as pop culture enthusiasts, can hold both of those truths in our hands at the same time.  Now on with the show!

Roger Ebert called this one of the best movies of 1985.  He was wrong, but this movie is incredibly rewatchable.  So you should...you know...rewatch it.  But you should listen to this podcast first.

Episode 165 | Casper (1995)

This past February I built an entire program for adult women around 90s teen heartthrobs.  It was called "Galentines: Tiger Beat Edition" and we talked our favorite actors of the 90s at a local pub, made classic 90s hairbows, played MASH, and drank beer.  It was a great night.  And it all started when I saw a poster of Devon Sawa in Casper.

On this Halloween, we're keeping that same conversation with the not-so-spooky favorite from 1995.

A re-watch that was different than I expected.  "We're men / We're men in tights / We roam around the forest looking for fights / We're men / We're men in tights / We rob from the rich and give to the poor / That's right!"

Episode 163 | Robin and the 7 Hoods

The Rat Pack meets the Robin Hood legend, and I 1) show my full weirdness and 2) gush unendingly over Dean Martin.  It's okay.  Give it a chance.

Another objectively bad, subjectively AMAZING movie.  "Accent" and all.  But, of course, Alan Rickman.  Always.

“I can do it because I can do anything!”

Another comfort movie.  Another of my childhood favorites.  Another potentially problematic film with a squidgy relationship.  Let's dive in! (pun intended)

"Forget for this moment the smog and the cars and the restaurant and the skating and remember only this. A kiss may not be the truth, but it is what we wish were true."

A ramble-y conversation in which I can't articulate why I love this movie as much as I do.  You should watch and then listen and then help me articulate.
