A Book and a Chat

Dr. Dean DeLuke is a graduate of St. Michael’s College, Columbia University (DMD) and Union Graduate College (MBA). Though he had previously published a variety of works related to his profession, he set his mind to a work of fiction after meeting novelists Robert Dugoni, Michael Palmer and Tess Gerritsen. Palmer and Gerritsen, both best-selling authors, also had careers as physicians, and Dugoni was a practicing attorney for many years before he published his first best-seller.

Dean wilkl be along to chat about his book Shedrow. Drawing from a history with thoroughbred horses that dates back to his youth, Dean creates a book full of mystery and adventure.

Patrick Brown will be along to chat today about his book "Industrial Pioneers" a book that shares the conflicts and causes that shaped modern America. It is a book that sheds light on Scranton (Pennsylvania) tranformation from wilderness to industrial center.

Telemarketers have been a pain in the general public’s behind for decades. Thanks to their interrupting us day and night, the telephone has been transformed from a convenience, into a source of annoyance and frustration. My guest today Steve Ostrow has wirtten a book to help us deal with these intrutions. How To Sue A Telemarketer: A Manual For Restoring Peace On Earth One Phone Call At A Time is a tongue-in-cheek manual that shows the average citizen how they can fight back against a telemarketer by taking them to small-claims court. Half humorous and half how-to, the book combines comedy with savvy information about the legal system and step-by-step instructions on how consumers can take telemarketers to task.

"Easy Writer" herself is back again for a return visit, always welcome, Kathi Macius returns to chat about yet anothger new book from this prolific author. This time though she is not alone, as the book "Valeria’s Cross" is co-written by Susan Wales wife of movie producer Ken Wales (Amazing Grace), etc. This should be a great show and one I'm looking forward to chatting to these two ladies

Her most recent release, Healing With Words: A Writer’s Cancer Journey (2010) is a memoir/self-help book which includes reflections, experiences, journal entries and poems all emphasizing the healing power of writing. In addition to extensive appendices, each chapter finishes with blank pages and journaling prompts for the reader to write about their own experiences.
