This week we start the book of Judges. We see the cyclical nature that the Israelites fell into after Joshua died because the generation did not pass on the knowledge of God or described his works and wonders to the younger generation.  In this episode, we mainly focus on Judges chapters 1 and 2. However, we touched on other topics that came up in the discussion.

For the last several weeks we have been discussing the Israelites journey as they went and conquered the promised land of Canaan. This week we cover twelve chapters in the book of Joshua and close out the chapter. We see the final efforts of the Israelites attempt to drive out the Caanaites or to leave them in place. This was the very first episode of A Breath of Fresh Air ever recorded. Next week we will return to our journey in the book of Joshua, but this week the time seemed fitting to release it.

The story of Samson is one triumph, indulgence, but most of all redemption. This Iconic story is found in the book of Judges chapters 13 - 16. Samson was born to Manoah and His wife who lived in a Zorah. An angel of God appeared to this couple and told them they would have a son who would be a Nazarite, set apart to God from birth. No razor to ever touch his head. When the average person thinks of Samson they think of the Delilah and the collapse of the Temple but the story has several gems scattered throughout.

Moses, the longtime leader of the children of Israel, sinned against God, and thus, he lost the privilege to lead the children of Israel into the promised land. God had already appointed a new leader. Before Moses bowed out gracefully, he had one final admonition for the children of Israel. That admonition is given to us in the form of the book Deuteronomy.
