In this episode I sit down with Henry Andres and we talk through his journey from being a “good” kid on the outside to actually coming to a place of real faith. Henry grew up in the Old Colony church. He knew the basic Bible stories, he behaved well, and by all appearances he was a good boy and then a good man. But underneath that, he had sins that were hidden—mainly pornography—that brought a lot of shame whenever they were exposed. That shame kept him hiding things for a long time. When he left the Old Colony, he figured his Bible knowledge could make him look impressive. But even then he wasn’t really submitting to the Lord, and he definitely wasn’t ready to bring his secret sin into the light. Over time, he started to see the damage it was doing—how it was hurting his marriage and shaping him into a husband and father he did not want to be.This past summer, after several restless, miserable nights, Henry finally surrendered to the Lord and trusted God for complete forgiveness! He confessed his sin to his wife—again—but this time with real brokenness and a willingness to change. And in that moment he finally found peace, and that’s really where his walk of genuine faith began.
