A Daily Walk on Oneplace.com

In Genesis chapter nineteen, Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed. But before that happens God sends an angel to Lot with explicit instructions to escape and don’t look back! We’re told that Lot’s wife did look back and paid dearly for it with her life. Pastor John shows us the powerful lessons we can learn from this in part two of his message, “Don’t Look Back.”

We could create a list a mile long of the things we’re incapable of doing in our own strength. But when it comes to God, we need to understand, nothing is too hard for Him! And it’s good to be reminded of that, especially when we’re faced with a situation that’s out of our control or beyond our ability! Today on a Daily Walk we’ll uncover this and more as we open our Bibles to Genesis chapters seventeen and eighteen. Sarah made a mistake that’s been repeated through the ages, looking at the human possibilities instead of God’s limitless ability!

Certain skeptics find the miracles in the Bible hard to believe. From Noah and the flood, to Jonah and the Big Fish... and how is it possible for a woman to bear a child at 90 years of age they ask? But they fail to realize that God is able to do anything He wants to do. We’ll focus on God’s faithfulness and great ability here today on a Daily Walk as our study of Genesis continues with pastor John Randall.

Whether it’s in the doctor’s office or in traffic, we don’t like to wait do we! We grow impatient if we have to wait for something for 13 minutes, but imagine having to wait for something close to thirteen years! That’s what Abraham and Sarah had to go through. As our study of Genesis develops we return to the story of Abraham and Sarah waiting for their promised son to arrive. After waiting for quite some time they decide to take matters into their own hands... big mistake!

If you were expecting a guest to come over to your place, perhaps you’d tidy things up a bit, clear your schedule and do what you could to make them feel welcome. As believers in Christ we know that Jesus is going to return one day… and it could be today. But are we ready? Our lives should reflect the soon return of Christ. Pastor John is about to point out how we’re to live knowing that Jesus’ return is right around the corner. We’ll meet you in Second Peter chapter three.

We’re in the middle of pastor John Randall’s study of Genesis right now. Today we’ll be looking together at chapters twelve and thirteen, and we’re on the receiving end of some incredible lessons for those times in life when we fail.Abraham is about to blow it big time. Fear has a grip on his life, and he leans on his own understanding instead of God’s promises! I think we’ve all been there! But he’s also going to get back on track- and that track leads right to Bethel.

Today, pastor John Randall resumes his series in Genesis. God places a calling on each of our lives, and we can either respond with faith or with fear. Abraham serves as a great example to us in his journey of faith. But he wasn’t perfect, and had his moments where he got off track.

Throughout history man has attempted to get to God on his own... but each attempt fails miserably. We’ll soon see that false religion dates back to a tower called Babel. This was a city built for man’s glory, certainly not God’s.... pride was its foundation... and destruction was its destination. Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall returns to his verse by verse study of Genesis and takes us deeper into chapter 11.
