What are we to make of all of those laws on the left side of our Bibles? Like many of the Jews in the first century, some today are under the impression that a person must keep those laws in order to be saved. Not only is that impossible, but it misses the purpose of the law. As we’ll learn today on a Daily Walk, the law is designed to reveal our sin and drive us to our Savior! Many who would characterize themselves as New Testament believers are still living under the Old Testament law. They’re still trying to live up to a standard that is unattainable, instead of recognizing the law was intended to show us we can’t keep it. And we need a Savior who not only can save guilty sinners but also bring about holiness in our lives.
