We’re about midway through a series in the gospel of Luke, and today pastor John Randall will again urge us to be persistent in our prayer life. God has promised us some very wonderful things when we pray, but those wonderful things are contingent upon us approaching Him with the right attitude and the right way. We join pastor John in Luke eleven for the prospect of prayer, the promise attached to prayer and the power available through prayer.

Marriage is sacred and something God created with a purpose in mind. He put it together and wants it to stay together for a lifetime. We’ll be giving our attention to the Lord’s Prayer here today on A Daily Walk, as we continue our study of Luke’s Gospel. You’ll find it in chapter eleven. Here Jesus gives His disciples and us a model of how we are to pray. There are some things here that we should incorporate into our prayer lives. It starts with God’s person and then transitions to God’s purpose, provision and protection.

These days we can communicate in a variety of ways with our loved ones, from texting to email! Or even picking up the phone and calling! Remember life before cell phones though? While a lot has changed through the years in that regard, the way we access the Heavenly Father hasn’t changed. We can talk to Him anytime, and anywhere. No dropouts or poor reception! What a privilege when you stop to think of it! Today we continue our verse by verse study in the Gospel of Luke. We’ll spend our time in chapter eleven, in what’s been often referred to as the Lord’s Prayer. It serves as a wonderful model for us to follow.

Imagine having Jesus over for dinner? How do you think you’d react? Perhaps you’d instantly go into work mode cleaning house, preparing an excellent feast and making sure He’s comfortable and well served. While all of that is great, we’ll learn the value of simply sitting at His feet and listening to Him. The different approaches the two sisters took to their special guest provides a good lesson for us on the importance of sitting at Jesus’ feet and listening to Him.

Whether it’s on the freeways, or making your way through the aisles of the supermarket it’s not hard to see people in large measure lack compassion! You don’t have to look long and hard to see indifference too! All the more reason to pay close to attention to what Jesus has to say in His parable of the Good Samaritan. I think you’ll quickly see how it relates to what we’re going through in the world as we know it, and on a more personal level too! Marriage is God’s idea. He designed the union of a man and a woman to be a permanent lifetime commitment. He understood that without commitment, you can’t establish trust and without trust, there can’t be true intimacy. When the trust is broken by adultery it’s extremely devastating. Pastor John Randall is taking us through the Gospel of Luke. And today we’ll spend some time in Luke ten, verses 25-36. This is where we find the Parable of the Good Samaritan, but there’s also a very good question posed to Christ that we want to address here too. It’s one many today desperately need answered, as they’ve arrived at the wrong conclusion. How does a person earn everlasting life? Or, how many good deeds must I do, to get there? Jesus is about to answer that for us, so let’s join Pastor John now in Luke ten.
