Our 7 stages of marriage during this pandemic has often reminded us of the 7 stages of grief! There was a little bit of denial, a whole lot of Happy Hours, and then acceptance that "nothing really matters." As usual, we are simply keeping it real and doing the best we can as a couple and as parents.

So what about school? Because of the pandemic, schools near us are giving families a choice. Virtual or 50% in person. It's a hot topic, but ultimately it is a personal choice. We are all simply doing the best we can as parents. Here is what we have to say about all of it!

After a series of illnesses, unfinished projects, messing up kid activity schedules, and staring at a white Christmas tree each day, we are throwing are hands up in the air and declaring February a lost cause. We are working on Curbing the Chaos, but sometimes we think the Chaos is winning. We are also talking about whether or not to turn that Christmas tree into a year-round "holiday tree" and whether or not it's normal to have a favorite bathroom to use in your own home. Vacationing with extended family can be fun in a big family. It's also full of opportunities for old dynamics to take over. The grown-ups sometimes act like the kids. In this episode we talk about beach vacations, cruising, trips with and without the kids, all-inclusive resorts, staycations, road trips, glamping with friends, and much more. Vacations are fun? Yes, well... mostly. Stress-free? No, not always. Visit us on our website: A Dash of Us Podcast

Is society making progress when it comes to division of chores and household responsibilities? How about with child rearing? Aren't things better than they were in our parent's generation? If you are in a partnership does this mean every responsibility is split equally? Or is it more important to find compromise in the best way that works for your relationship? We talk about all this on today's episode. Visit us on our website: A Dash of Us Podcast

So we ask, is this middle age? Is age just a number or a mindset? According to our kids we are "boomers," but we refuse to accept any of this nonsense talk. We are proud GenXers with bucket lists. 40 is the new 30 and just the beginning of the fun!

Is "Me Time" something you have to schedule into your life or is it simply doing something you love whenever you can squeeze it in? Does "Me Time" have to be done alone or can you count couples getaways and boys/girls nights out as "Me Time?" Is technology ruining our time to ourselves? We discuss all of this and don't exactly see eye-to-eye on this hot topic. Comment below if you have an opinion on the importance of carving out "Me Time." Thank you for listening to A Dash of Us!

It seems like we are in a never-ending battle to Control the Clutter. We've tried to embrace our inner Marie Kondo, considered being minimalists, and even paid a truck to haul away our junk. So we ask, can families with kids really control the clutter? Do you donate or sell your stuff? Have you ever resorted to dropping off your things in one of those random donation boxes on the side of the road? These are our thoughts and musings on our mission to lessen the load and live more simply.
