Hello everyone, welcome to another episode of "A Day in the Life" and I'm Jared Rimer. Thank you so much for listening to this episode of transit in motion. While most segments were recorded in the field, one segment was recorded in the studio because it was not recorded in the field due to battery limitations.
On this edition of the podcast, we're going to evaluate 5 different stations. We evaluate:
Historic Broadway was quite interesting, as things were interesting and loud there.
I do have a question. Are you able to confirm what my observations tell me?
Here is contact info for the podcast:
Please let me know what you think. I'll be looking forward to your response.
Running time: 2 HRS, 38 Mins, 38 Secs.
Hello folks, welcome to another podcast here on "A Day in the Life." I'm Jared, and this podcast is needing to be of very high importance if you are interested in the Purple line.
While we try to read the article, I've decided not to do this because there are a lot of images within this article. That'll make braille very interesting.
There's lots of info in regards to history as well.
Do you want to read the article? Its titled: How to ride the D Line Extension’s Section 1, opening this Friday, May 8!
While I'm understanding the article indicates that sections 2 and 3 are opening in 2027, I'm publicly saying 27 and 28 respectively unless we find out different. Things can change, and I may not have high hopes for both opening at the same time. Only time will tell.
We'll have plenty of stuff coming up, as our podcast continues. Thanks for listening ... make it a great day!
Here is contact info in text form for you:
The PSAC meeting will be this month, and its just over 2 days away.
Our PSAC page has the file set including both sets of braille and a PDF.
There are 5 items on the agenda, including the usual attendance and quorum requirements, approval of agendas and minutes, the update from DPS, and an update on a biannual social media update. Let's pay attention to that, as I wonder what that's going to be about.
One item may be unique to this committee and that is something called Executive Committee Selection – Chair Pro Tempore. I have no idea what that means.
We also talk about web site updates and what else is coming up.
Hope you enjoy the show!
Welcome folks to another edition of the Day in the Life.
On this podcast, we're going to cover the San Fernando Service Council meeting agenda package.
If you want a copy in print or braille, please go on over to the san fernando service council page on jaredrimer.com's site so you can pick it up.
The agenda is pretty typical, approval of minutes from meetings, receiving updates about service in general and the world cup games enhanced transit project (WCGET) program.
One item, which is 4th in the agenda may be of interest, its entry in the agenda says: "RECEIVE Reconnecting Neighborhoods (RCN) Mobility Concept Plan Update." Never heard of this before.
Contact info is given at the end of the program, thanks for listening, make it a great day!
Hello folks, welcome to another edition of the podcast. I'm Jared.
I know that the following was posted to the blog last month, and the world cup is a little more than a month away.
This article might be of interest to subscribers, even if you missed the early bird specials that were ran early.
Links within the article link to the matches, but don't transfer to the braille copy, so make sure you go on over to the article which is found on our show notes.
The article is titled Metro to run direct bus service to FIFA World Cup™ matches from multiple locations in the Los Angeles area which the AAC's Cynde Soto said I should cover. We're going to do it now!
With some tech issues involved between the release of the article and now, we must push forward and explain how everything works, and for those don't get this news, this is what we're going to try and do.
Email is available, the text messaging and the WhatsApp phone number will be given throughout this program. Please find it below.
Thanks so much for listening to this, and make it a great day!

Hello gang, welcome to another edition of "A Day in the Life." I'm Jared, and today, we're reviewing what is planned on the Metro Calendar.
The Calendar is now provided to us by Event Bright, a ticketing platform who allows individuals and companies to host events whether free or paid.
All Metro events on this calendar are free, and no ticket is actually required. Links are to each meeting, and they may have agenda packages and other info on how to get to its location or joining online.
While this network can't be at every meeting, we hope that the list can give you a glimpse in to what is going on for the current month, and of course, check the calenar as there may be new events added after the fact.
Thanks so much for listening!
Welcome to another edition of the podcast called "A Day in the Life." I'm Jared, and I'm the host of the program.
The following article was recently posted to the source, and I think it has some great points. But the problem is, does it match what riders actually see?
I'll read this article, and give my thoughts as a rider of the system.
This is where the program needs the disclaimer, which is that these opinions within this podcast are my own. They represent Metro in any way.
The article is titled Metro Launches New Public Safety Hub and Dashboard which has links to various things including the hub, and other projects that are talked about within the article itself.
Thanks so much for listening, and if you're a rider, I'd love to hear from you and let's discuss your thoughts.
Email metro at jaredrimer dot com (replace the symbols as appropriate) to get the address.
Text message or send me a WhatsApp message by sending it to 804-442-6975.
You may also leave a comment at 818-527-4754. If the number calls me, I may answer.
I don't claim to be the source of truth, and everyone has a voice to tell me that I'm wrong. If your observations differ, let's chat about it.
The aforementioned 818 number can call you back, please be aware of that.
Thanks for listening, and make it a great day!
We will start by mentioning that from now on, we're putting in a disclaimer within our program and i explain why. We'll be covering things that will need it.
Hello gang, welcome to another edition of "A day in the life." I'm Jared amnd while I first decided to cover just the two board meetings as I observed them, I also decided to also do operations.
All of those meetings can be found through the board web page where links are available to current and past meetings.
BTW, I know in the podcast that I said 60 episodes, but remember that these episodes are not formerly numbered, and we've released a total of 62 complete programs with this one coming up. We appreciate those who have been here from the beginning and contact info is in our podcast.
I hope that you all enjoy the program.
See you next time!
Hello gang, welcome to the podcast, I'm Jared and this is "A Day in the Life of Jared at L.A. Metro."
Well! Its time that we get the board agenda out. We put it up on our web site and we've got print and braille up, and now its the podcast time.
You can get the agenda from the board web page or our board page from jaredrimer.com which will include braille in EBAE and UEB.
A lot of this agenda is going to be contractual, and besides the CEO and chair's report, there's only one other item being heard.
Just so people know, closed session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, maybe longer depending on the case load. Closed session is not heard in public, but they do have public comment for closed session.
The program will last about 1 HR, 25 minutes. I hope that you enjoy the program as much as we have bringing it to you, and we'll be back for another edition of the podcast really soon.
Contact info is within our show itself.
