Hello gang,
Welcome to another edition of the podcast "A Day in the Life of Jared," I'm Jared.
This time, we're going to cover a very big article which we need to step through.
The article is titled Ababil of Minab claims cyberattack on LACMTA, exposing risks to rail control systems and critical transit infrastructure. This article comes to us from a new publication that was sent to me through Google, because as we discuss, Los Angeles Metro has said nothing much in regards to the whole incident. This article was written on the 15th.
In an earlier article, we talk and read the article that came out through the Los Angeles times, and you can listen and or read the transcript of the podcast titled L.A. Metro confirms Cyberattack.
Also, on my own blog, which is called "Jared's Technology Network," we decided to take apart the two articles since there are a lot of unknowns.
One article, the L.A. Times article indicates Metro has 1400 servers, but the Industrial Cyber article indicates there are 1421 servers. But the question is, do we really know how many servers, virtual or otherwise, any company has? I think the answer is "no."
Also, there are a lot of unknowns. There are scary numbers out there, but once you go through what's hype VS what is known, you'll understand what is going on.
The article is lengthy, but it is not considered a diatribe. It is breaking down what is known publicly VS what is being reported.
The blog post is titled: L.A. Metro Confirms Cyberattack as Details Remain Unclear and should be read after you consume both the L.A. Times article and the IC article.
I can be reached for comments, and I can do my best to give you answers. While I am not technically an employee, I may be able to base my answers on what should be the case, but I'm not going to lead you wrong.
I hope that everyone enjoys the program, and we'll be back with more podcasts really soon.

We take a gander around the landscape of meetings and podcasts in this hour plus podcast with our very own Preston Gaylor.
If you don't remember who he is, he assists me with dropbox and the meeting organization that needs to take place.
Thanks for listening, make it a great day!
Hello gang,
Welcome to another edition of the podcast. I'm Jared Rimer, and on this edition of the podcast, we're going to talk a little bit about security.
While the goal of this podcast is not necessarily security related, there are times that this crosses and this is a great example.
L.A. Metro is not immune to cyberattacks. This is when someone who is not authorized gains access to a network.
Unfortunately, in March, this happened to Metro, and we've not learned a whole lot.
Many different committees, including several of whom I sit on as a member of the public, were asking questions and Metro did not really have any answers.
While trying to figure out how to cover this, I found an article from the L.A. Times that gives us an update on the situation, and we will be reading the article on this edition of the podcast.
The article is titled L.A. Metro confirms it was hacked. Weeks later, it’s still getting systems back online and I urge people who can to read it.
We also sent this article to our L.A. Metro Communications list, because I felt it was of importance.
Please send me email directly or give me a voice mail. Email [email protected] or leave a message at 818-527-4754. You may also text or WhatsApp 804-442-6975.
Thanks so much for listening, make it a great day!

You may watch the meeting through the board page when it starts.
Thanks so much for listening, and we'll see you soon!
Hello folks, welcome to another edition of the podcast known as "A Day in the Life Of Jared at L.A. Metro." I'm Jared.
On this episode of the podcast, we cover the board meeting which will be held on April 15, 2026.
You're asking, "There's no board meeting, Jared. What do you mean the board meeting?" In recent times, we've had special board meetings, and they've delbt with the games, specificly, items like the concept plan that deals with making sure they have operation for people like you and I, as well as for those who are coming for the games.
We have the Fifa World Cup in June, and we have other events between now and the big Olympics in 2028.
These meetings will work on things like this.
We want you to participate, so go to the board web page and select the special board meeting for agendas or you can pick them up from my site. But also, you can see from the main page a link to watch online, as well as info to call in by phone which is also available in the agenda.
Thanks so much for listening!
Hello gang, welcome to another edition of the podcast known as "A Day in the Life of Jared." I'm of course, Jared, your host of the program.
I hope that everyone here is doing well and that you'll enjoy the program this time.
On this program, we're traveling to 7th Street, Metro Center where we were advised that there were braille signs.
While these notes will not give you any answers, we do find something that does not actually surprise me. But again, I raised the same issues in recent meetings, even going so far as October of last year.
Feel free to participate and tell me what you think. Contact info is at the end of the program.

On this podcast, we're going to talk about an article that was released shortly after the January board meeting where the D line was announced to be opening in May.
We talked about it during the podcast of the board back then, but recently, I went and found the article and while it wasn't within the past few days in time, I did find one and I posted it to the list in late March.
Whether it was January or February's board meeting, is not the point as far as the announcement goes, but May will be here before we know it.
If you want to read the article, It’s official! D Line Extension Section 1 to open on May 8 is what you're going to be reading.
Here are some other items you might want to read.
We will have more on opening day as soon as we see it. If my hunch is correct, it'll be just like the A line opening to Pamona which will be a 12 noon opening with lots ahead of time.
Until then, stay safe, and stay well!
In January, I believe, an operator who was having a hard time, got an award at Metro for his work as a bus operator. This is the first award that was given to an employee who has been working only for a year and 3 months at that time.
An article about this recently hit the Source, Metro's English blog, and we found it.
On this edition of the podcast, we're going to read the article and I'll talk about my thoughts.
For those who want to read, A second chance: Bus operator Frank Rodriguez’s road from hardship to healing will be your article.
This was an inspiring story, and even when I heard it live, I found myself wondering where he drove.
I hope you enjoy the story with me as much as I have hearing it, and then reading it when it was found on the blog.

Welcome to another edition of "A Day in the Life of Jared." I'm Jared.
On this edition of the program, we're going to talk about the Public Safety Advisory Comittee and its agenda package for this week's meeting.
I realized after i created braille that the braille does not mention the time. The time of the meeting will be at 6 PM. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
You may get print copies of the agenda through Metro's PSAC page or through the PSAC page on my fan site.
We appreciate everyone listening, and we'll be having more podcasts very soon!
Welcome to another episode of "A Day in the Life" here at L.A. Metro. I'm Jared Rimer, and this time, we're listing all of the members of the 2026-2027 campaign.
Each year, PSAC has an election, and members can be on for additional years if they choose.
After so long, the member terms out, and they must wait one year to reapply. Several have reached this limit, but we have new members to take their place.
On this podcast, learn who they are, and have a reminder about what PSAC does.
Are you a reader instead? Here is a link to the PSAC page on Metro's site for those who want this resource.
The next meeting will be on April 9, 2026. I hope to see you there!
