This post emerged from deep pain and anger due to the recent horrific killing of a brother by a cop in front of other cops who didn’t do anything to save the precious life!

This poem reflects on my mother’s hands and how her hands have taken care of us over the years!

This poem is calling us to love and care the strangers who come to our cities looking for safety and work. Often times we ignore their needs or blame them for their suffering but we can do better! Love can help us do better!

I wrote this Hindi poem in 2011 for my son in Puerto Rico. It includes some key messages for a successful life per the values my parents gave me.

During this time when many people are experiencing the loss of a dear one due to COVID-19, here’s a poem that might bring hope and peace to a suffering heart.
