The Gift Of Pain
Sahih al-Bukhari 5641, 5642
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."
{…That is because whenever they suffer from thirst, fatigue, or hunger in the cause of Allah; or tread on a territory, unnerving the disbelievers; or inflict any loss on an enemy—it is written to their credit as a good deed. Surely Allah never discounts the reward of the good-doers.}
Quran 9:120

Sunan Abi Dawud 4985
Narrated A man:
Salim ibn AbulJa'dah said: A man said: (Mis'ar said: I think he was from the tribe of Khuza'ah): would that I had prayed, and got comfort. The people objected to him for it. Thereupon he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: O Bilal, call iqamah for prayer: give us comfort by it.
Sahih al-Bukhari 7563
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: ''Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi'' and ''Subhan Allah Al-`Azim."
Hello assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh !
In this episode Nafisa reflects on accepting life as it is and the journey to pursuing patience.
It was narrated from Mus’ab bin Sa’d that his father, Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas, said:
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which people are most severely tested?’ He said: ‘The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A person is tested according to his religious commitment. If he is steadfast in his religious commitment, he will be tested more severely, and if he is frail in his religious commitment, his test will be according to his commitment. Trials will continue to afflict a person until they leave him walking on the earth with no sin on him.’”

2:155 And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English
Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"When Allah wants good for his slave, He hastens his punishment in the world. And when He wants bad for His slave, He withholds his sins from him until he appears before Him on the Day of Judgement."
And with this (same) chain, (it was reported) from the Prophet (ﷺ) who said: "Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2396
Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. ˹The believers pray,˺ “Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

Hey Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh! So reflecting on the little activity we had over a the podcast Instagram page with the girls regarding inauthentic narrations we had heard our whole lives that we later found out were untrue , I realised it is so scary to be the one that shares an inauthentic narration or conveys it to other people.
And while I was listening back on an episode I had posted “ why isn’t something in you moved..?” I remembered there was a specific narration that I read that: One day, a young companion named Anas ibn Malik, accidentally broke a plate and instead of scolding him, the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam reassured him.
I remembered I had read it but I had not taken note of the reference and I went on to check and could not find any authentic information on it. So I wanted to ask for your forgiveness if you shared that , please forgive me it’s been deleted from the episode now but if you shared the episode in your story please share this one as well so we can help each other .
It’s all scary subhanallah, in a time of social media now and the way everything works so fast we really need to be careful and try our best to make sure what we share has authentic evidence to back it up.
I hope you forgive me. May Allah forgive us all. And I pray this encourages you to be very careful of what you share🤍🪻
Hey everyone assalamu alaikum warahmatullah. Today I listened to this from my drafts. And I found it gave me hope.i hope it is useful 🪻🤍
Sometimes we make mistakes and wonder how on earth we got to such a low.We begin to feel like there’s no going back and we have just ruined our relationship with Allah. But subhanallah understanding there’s something inside of us that prompts us to do things that are actually unacceptable and understanding it’s human to err and understanding the regret we feel is hopefully a sign of our faith and it’s supposed to catalyse our repentance and push us to change- understanding these concepts and being at peace with it while acknowledging we do have something that is a part of us we really need protection from keeps us sane and hopeful .
This is what I’ve learnt about the nafs - the lower/animal self that always just wants and seeks control of our hearts.
I’ve learnt from this that I really need to start heavily praying to Allah to protect me from the evil prompting of my own nafs cause an enemy within is much more dangerous I feel that the enemy outside of you.
But that part of us is not all of us so we shouldn’t allow it to define us , we should seek Allahs help to protect us from listening to it and giving in all the time and also take up measures to deny it when it instructs us to do bad. However not if but when we do slip- because we are children of our Father Adam AS , we are those who make mistakes, we should not be hesitant to return to Allah . To repent to Allah.
Honestly I feel it’s the mercy of Allah that He swt attributes evil to not us directly but factors within us or around us, so we understand that we are not completely bad, we are flawed yes but we are not completely bad.
And I think that’s beautiful 🥹

Another lesson was reflecting on the guilt the generation before us must have felt but that Allah still honoured them after repentance.
Narrated Al-Bara:
We faced the pagans on that day (of the battle of Uhud) and the Prophet (ﷺ) placed a batch of archers (at a special place) and appointed `Abdullah (bin Jubair) as their commander and said, "Do not leave this place; if you should see us conquering the enemy, do not leave this place, and if you should see them conquering us, do not (come to) help us," So, when we faced the enemy, they took to their heels till I saw their women running towards the mountain, lifting up their clothes from their legs, revealing their leg-bangles. The Muslims started saying, "The booty, the booty!" `Abdullah bin Jubair said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) had taken a firm promise from me not to leave this place." But his companions refused (to stay). So when they refused (to stay there), (Allah) confused them so that they could not know where to go, and they suffered seventy casualties….
Sahih al-Bukhari 4043, 4044
Finding Balance Between The Spiritual and material - Surah Al Qiyaamah
“Isn’t it yet time you feel something when you remember Allah?”
*in the beginning parts of the episode I said don’t be intimidated by the Quran , in the sense of fearing it when you’ve made a mistake that you avoid it and neglect it completely. don’t run away from Allah. Yes you should be scared. Ashamed . Frightened at the thought of the consequences of what you’ve done but who will you run to? Come back to Allah ,don’t let “fear” push you away. It’s a trick. Pick up the Quran with all the shame you feel and fear. Repent to Allah. He will guide you and forgive you.Allahs door is always open.🥹
In this episode, we explore a powerful verse in the Quran where Allah (SWT) asks, *"Isn’t it yet time for those who believe to feel something when they remember Him?"* This question is a call to reflect on our hearts—are they softened by His remembrance, or have they grown hard?
“Has the time not yet come for believers' hearts to be humbled at the remembrance of Allah and what has been revealed of the truth, and not be like those given the Scripture before—˹those˺ who were spoiled for so long that their hearts became hardened. And many of them are ˹still˺ rebellious.” Quran 57:16
“And ˹remember˺ when We took a covenant from the children of Israel ˹stating˺, “Worship none but Allah; be kind to parents, relatives, orphans and the needy; speak kindly to people; establish prayer; and pay alms-tax.” But you ˹Israelites˺ turned away—except for a few of you—and were indifferent” Quran 2:83
We delve into how our approach to others can shape our spiritual path. Sometimes, in seeking piety, we mistakenly think it means being harsh or distant. But true faith transforms us from within, reflected in kindness, gentleness, and love toward others. When we lose compassion, our acts of worship can feel empty.
We end with a reminder of how Allah (SWT) guides us toward true heart-softening:

Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures.
It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa’d said:
“We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Dhul-Hulaifah, when we saw a dead sheep lifting its leg (because of bloating). He said: ‘Don’t you think this is worthless to its owner? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this world is more worthless to Allah than this (dead sheep) is to its owner. If this world was worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, the disbeliever would not have a drop to drink from it.’”

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
[Muslim].
- ref regarding why I take time to post episodes but I think I don’t use it the right way , as you read above good deeds should not be delayed , so I guess it’s about finding a balance , take your time and do it well , don’t be hasty but don’t prolonge it so much that it never gets done.may Allah grant us strength.
Sahl bin Sa’d (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Haste comes from Satan.” Related by At-Tirmidhi who graded is as Hasan.
In this thought-provoking episode, Nafisa confronts a profound question: *Am I living in a way that prepares me for death and the Hereafter, or have I become consumed by the distractions of the dunya (worldly life)? She dives deep into the reality of death and the consequences of our choices in the next life.
Drawing on powerful evidence from the Quran and authentic narrations from the Sunnah, she explored the journey of the soul from the moment it leaves the body, to the grave, and beyond. She reflected on vivid descriptions of the trials of the grave, the terror of the Day of Judgment, and the unimaginable torments of Hellfire for those who turn away from Allah’s guidance.
As she examined these truths, we’ll challenge ourselves to ask: Is this the life we want to face our Lord with?
This episode serves as both a wake-up call and an invitation to realign our priorities, reconnect with our purpose, and live in a way that leads to eternal success in the Hereafter.
Tune in for a powerful reminder of what really matters and hopefully encourages you to make the most of the time you have before it’s too late.
Ps the dua of my friend and I was not to say we doubted Allahs wisdom infact I forgot to state she actually acknowledged that Allahs wisdom surpasses all that we think , he knows why it is they are going through this, the prayer
“Ya Allah I’ve learnt my lesson please grant them ease please let it stop”
Was more or less like us reflecting on if truly our actions have played a role in their struggles we are so sorry Allah, we submit, we’ve learnt our lesson, forgive us so the balance can be restored
