Karen is a Practitioner in Applied Zoopharmacognosy, Dip.IAZ Animals self-medicating. She is also a Natural Holistic Animal Health & Behaviour Tisserand Institute Honoursgraduate and holds a Diploma in Aromatic Science.
Karen would like me to add this information as a postscript to our chat:
‘Applied Zoopharmacognosy, enablesyou to bring natures pharmacy to your dog. Supporting a healthy, wellbalanced & happy dog. Your dog does not need to have a problem, ailment or issue and importantly you can work preventatively by offering regular wellness checks. Age size, breed & history does not matter.’
Apologies that the video and sound is not perfect in this podcast. Both Karen and I experienced WIFI issues that day.

This podcast is a conversation with Daniella and Cierón of The Forever Summer Project on Instagram, in the UK. Daniella and Cierón have both been working professionally with dogs for ten years and work in the Rescue Dog sector currently. I first reached out to them a couple of years ago, because I was so impressed with their feed, and wondered if they could help with ours! Their philosophy and messaging resonate with the Slow Dog Movement immensely. They also had anotherprofile called Radical Behaviour, which is not currently active, but that is a highly informative resource for dog behaviour nerds and neophytes alike!

This podcast started one month ago, when I spoke with Billie Groom for the first time. We ended up talking for three hours and I didn’t hit the record button because we were taking the time to get to know each other. The second time Billie and I met virtually; we recorded this podcast you’ll hear a portion of here on SPOTIFY. Billie is a lifelong dog lover, advocate for dogs, and a self-taught dog communicator and psychotherapist. She was using her technique, Upward Dogology, before she ever knew it was Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I hope that you enjoythis conversation as much as I enjoyed being a part of it.

This month my episode is with the über professional and delightful Winkie Spiers. Winkie is an AMBASSADOG in our PATREON community and huge supporter of the Slow Dog Movement, a dog trainer of almost 22 years, an author, an educator, and a mentor to myself and many other dog professionals. In this podcast, Winkie and I discuss life for urban, rural, and rescue dogs, and many topics in between.
Find Winkie Spiers here and on Instagram.
The book I mentioned, ‘The Courage to be Disliked’ is by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga.

This month I interview my husband, Brett, about his recent solo dog guardian experience with our new rescue dog, Pepi and our other resident rescue dogs. Brett looked after our dogs while Iwas in Canada with our son, Henry, and THEN, we decided to all move to Canada. This was completely unexpected, and Brett had some huge challenges.
In this episode, I talk with Brett about how he coped, and how the Slow Dog Movement philosophy helped him in this experience and journey ‘home.’
