Elisha Greenwell was born and raised in Northern California, earned her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara and her M.F.A. from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Throughout her 18 year marketing career she has developed award-winning community-centric brand strategy for Nike, Target, Starbucks and Verizon. In 2018 she was the recipient of the ADCOLOR Change Agent award after founding The Black Joy Parade, a 30k-person movement celebrating Black culture and community. She currently lives in Oakland, Ca where she continues to run The Black Joy Parade, now in its 5th year, while serving on the board of the Huey Newton Foundation, and working as the Director of Social Impact at MasterClass to develop best-in-class learning for underserved communities.
