New Years, making resolutions, and setting goals became things that I began to despise. For so many years I set such outrageous goals inside of my business that I was left feeling completely defeated and depressed as the year would pass by because I was so far from the goals I had set. 

All I could focus on was how far I was from the resolutions I made and the goals I set that I completely neglected to see all of the good, the blessings and the growth!

This quote renewed my hope: There are no such thing as unrealistic goals, only unrealistic timelines.

In todays episode we are discussing 3 things: 

1) Disciplining your children without crushing their spirit!

2) Why it’s important to let your kids see you at your worst!

3) Leave the dirty dishes for another day!

As strong willed and stubborn as my son may be, those qualities are qualities that God has given him and if I don’t crush his spirit God will use those qualities in a great way. Now, that doesn’t mean that I don’t discipline and give him boundaries but how can I do a better job as a parent and make sure to foster that strong will? Because it will serve him well in life and is a blessing. 

We need to remember that God knit these babies together and he gave them to us and we have a big responsibility. The times kids are so difficult it’s our duty as parents to be mindful of not having sharp tongues and crush their little spirits. God has such big plans for them and can use them in the most wondrous ways if we don’t crush their spirits.

My dad called me last night to talk over Thanksgiving plans and I was literally balling my eyes out over that fact that my entire family isn’t getting together this year due to Covid. Every year since I was born all 50 of my family, aunts, uncles, cousins pack into my grandparents house to enjoy each other and play games. After my little breakdown I wiped my tears and thought to myself, how can I make this year super special for my little family? What traditions can I create that my own kids will hold near and dear and have to look back on when they are adults with their own kids?

One thing that really stuck out to me in this episode was how Ruby said that she put college and her career on the back burner so that she could spend a few years really focusing and nurturing her marriage. This made me feel all sorts of ways, on one hand its like- oh my gosh that is so old school and what about equal rights?! On the other hand, is see great value in the advice and taking the time to nurture your family unit- distraction free.

With that being said, maybe for me, it is not take a break from business or career, maybe it is: Is there a season where I can put some aspects of career or business on the back burner and give my family the attention and nurture that is needed? Maybe it's not a season, maybe it's a week. Maybe for me it's taking a break from social media from Thanksgiving until New Years to really hone in on my family and breathe life into them. Maybe its deleting certain apps from my phone and when out of habit I am ready to scroll, I instead invest that time into my family. So I encourage you to take a look at the upcoming weeks and ask your self: what can I put on the back burner so that I can take some much needed time to really nurture my family? Which brings me to what I'm soooooo excited to share with you. So make sure you listen to the end of the episode!

We talked a lot about porn and sex on this episode. First of all if that is something that you struggle with please, please, do not feel judged. If you are feeling guilty, or shamed, know that is not of God. That is straight from the devil, and he wants exactly that- to have those grips on you. Know that you are bigger than all of your “junk in the trunk” and God can use even your worst decision or most embarrassing moment to bring glory and honor to Him… If you invite Him to do so.

 I'm not here to tell you what to do and what not to do, I’m just here to say ask yourself: “at the end of the day does this action really make me feel good, or is it wreaking havoc in my life?” Sometimes we let these little things become big problems in our lives, they get a grip on us and we are here to give you that loving nudge to rise up and to remind you that you are BIGGER and GREATER than even your worst decision! The Bible tells us we all sin and we all fall short, and my sin is no SMALLER than yours. 

That being said let me remind you that God is the creator of sex, and He wants it to be a blessing inside of our marriages! So if you are struggling in any of these areas I hope that this episode blesses you and takes you to a new level. 

Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love. Proverbs 5:18-19
