  • Guiding Loved Ones Through The Process of Closing Their Life with Dana Artzer
When Dana lost her mother due to congestive heart failure in 2019, she was heartbroken to have lost her hero and best friend.
In 2018, Dana realized her mother was nearing her end of life. Because Dana has been an advocate for senior citizens for years, she knew there was a vast amount of important information that she would need to access when her mother passed, so she created a booklet for her mom to fill out. The booklet would contain all the information needed when her mom went to her final resting place. Three months after sending her mom the booklet, Dana received it back. She called to thank her mother for filling it out, said I love you and she would call her tomorrow. Tomorrow NEVER came, her mother died later that night.
It did not take long before she realized that having this booklet filled with her mom’s information available at her fingertips was making the process of closing her mom’s life so much easier.  All she had to do was make phone calls. She knew every bit of information that she needed to know and knew where every important document was located. She truly felt that her mother was holding her hand and guiding her through the process.
In the middle of her darkness Dana’s “AHA" moment came! as the perfect solution to other people's organizational and end of life preparation problems. Dana created a comprehensive information system called Got It Covered-The Essential Guide to Closing the Life of Your Loved One to give a sense of peace and ease the burden for families during one of their most difficult times.
Dana has been a Medicare and Retirement Specialist since 2013. She works with numerous insurance companies to offer a comprehensive list of products to her clients, residential retirement communities and local businesses.

  • What the Rorschach Inkblot Test Reveals with Psychoanalyst J. Herman Kleiger
What are we born to do? Should we do what is expected of us or forge our own path in life? Today's special guest, psychologist and psychoanalyst J. Herman Kleiger explores these questions and more in his debut historical novel, The 11th Inkblot.
The 11th Inkblot is a “well-written and lovingly embroidered novel...” that is “a spellbindingly measured narrative that entertains and enthralls.” (Kirkus Reviews). It is a novel that explores a mind torn between art and science, the horrors of war and the invention of the Rorschach Test.
The 11th Inkblot invites the reader to become a passenger on a moving interpretive journey of loss, madness, acceptance, and redemption. In this historical fiction, with hints of magical realism, Kleiger treats us to a psychologically-textured coming of age mystery, enmeshed with unexplained family alienation, childhood grief, trauma of war, and a search for connections.
The main character's journey takes him to Zurich where he comes under the spell of Swiss Psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach, the man who pioneered the Inkblot test. It is here that art and science meet, where Anton's mother's fortune-telling intersects with the beginnings of a new type psychiatry: The Inkblot (or Rorschach) Test.
    J. Herman Kleiger was born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from Harvard and the University of Denver, before serving as a psychologist in the Navy.  A clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, his major works include Disordered Thinking and The Rorschach, 1999; Assessing Psychosis, with Ali Khadivi, 2015; and Rorschach Assessment of Psychotic Phenomena, 2017. The 11th Inkblot is Jim’s first novel.

  • Traumatic Narcissism: Cult and Relational Subjugation with Daniel Shaw LCSW
In today's special guest, Daniel Shaw, LCSW's book, Traumatic Narcissism:Relational Systems of Subjugation, he demonstrates how narcissism can best be understood not merely as character, but as the result of the specific trauma of subjugation, in which one person is required to become the object for a significant other who demands hegemonic subjectivity.
Before continuing his post-graduate education in psychoanalysis, Dan was a student of yoga and meditation for more than a decade, living in India for several periods of study, and traveling extensively as an international organizer and manager of yoga education programs. It was out of these experiences that Dan developed his interest in the study of cults and charismatic leaders. These studies in turn led Dan to develop the concept of the “traumatizing narcissist’s relational system,” the subject of his book, Traumatic Narcissism: Relational Systems of Subjugation.
Daniel Shaw, LCSW, is a psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City and in Nyack, New York. He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University, New York, in 1996 and was certified as a Psychoanalyst in 2000. Dan has been providing professional counseling for former members of cultic groups, and friends and family members of those involved in cults, since 1994. Post-cult recovery is for many former cult members a difficult process, involving struggles at many levels to return from a restrictive, authoritarian culture to a life of freedom and autonomy.
Traumatic Narcissism, was published by Routledge for the Relational Perspectives Series and nominated for the prestigious Gradiva Award. In 2018, the International Cultic Studies Association awarded Dan the Margaret Thaler Singer Award for advancing the understanding of coercive persuasion and undue influence.
