In times of difficulty or uncertainty, it’s easy to relapse into familiar habits—even if we’re aware that what we’re doing is wrong. When Abraham once again found himself feeling threatened in an unfamiliar land, he fell back into an old sin characterized by fear, doubt, and dishonesty. Yet, even when we fall short in our struggle against sin, God remains at work, faithful to His promises.
Don’t look back. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith. Are you tired of waiting? The life we hoped for can be one of the hardest to lose. But the life God has for us cannot be fathomed.
When you and I are faced with challenges in our journey of faith, it can become difficult to imagine how even God’s unlimited ability will pull us through. When we experience loss, pain, and disappointment, we may struggle to place our confidence in God’s goodness. Yet, to a 100-year-old couple, God reveals He’s in the miracle working business and proves Himself faithful. God was teaching Abraham and Sarah the lesson He is teaching us today — nothing is too difficult for our God.

Abram had doubts. Does that mean he did not have faith? He wanted to know how it would all happen. Did God get frustrated with him? No, God helped him. Don’t be afraid Fresh Wind. God is your shield and your reward will be great.
Faith looks beyond the riches of the world to greater blessings that God has in store. Abram wanted something far more enduring than possessions and wealth — He wanted the fulfillment of God’s promises.
Stop worrying about the size of your faith and start worrying about the quality of your faith. The quality of your faith comes from consistently activating your faith. Living a faithful, loyal life.
Even the heroes of our faith sometimes allowed themselves to be moved by circumstance rather than conviction. Yet Abram’s trip to Egypt proves that God’s promise to finish the work He began in us cannot be deterred by our mistakes and shortcomings. God’s faithfulness to us ensures that even when we find ourselves off course—whether because of a decision made in fear or a sin that has overcome us—His grace will guide us back to His will.
The introduction of Abram represents a major turning point in the story of Genesis. God’s previous interactions with humanity, from Adam to the Tower of Babel, were marked by discord and conflict. With Abram, God finally found someone who embraced His offer of blessing in exchange for obedience.
