We have gotten loose with worship. Worship is about rejoicing, reverence, and responding in obedience. You cannot truly worship Him until you see Him as King. When He is your King, you are His to command. It is a honor to be commanded by the King. He is not just God, but also your King!
Most scripture talking about Jesus in heaven tells us He is sitting at the right hand of the Father. When Stephen was about to give it all for Jesus, Jesus stood up. I know you feel oppressed. I know you are struggling wondering why the evil seem to prosper. Why the people who have hurt you and your family go unpunished? I want you to know the Jesus is standing up for you!
Fear is an emotion everyone is intimately familiar with. At times, fear has protected us from dangerous situations. Other times, fear has become debilitating and robs us of life. In Psalm 91, the psalmist asserts that when our hearts are set on God, we are equipped with all we need to overcome our fear.
Envy drives us to unhealthy comparison and competition with others. When we're winning--we become arrogant. When we're losing... we feel discouraged. This baggage has robbed us of our contentment and leads to a never ending pursuit of more. Is it possible that the people who are most content are the most free?
Have you let your disappointment turn into baggage? Have you become bitter? Do you have a critical spirit? Do you have depression based on all your regrets? Maybe your disappointment is in the only one who could have done something. It might be time to tell God you are disappointed. That you need Him to help you trust Him with your disappointment. He will.
Guilt naturally causes us to lean in one of two directions. We either, wallow in it by reliving the past or make up excuses and deny try to deny it. Either way, the guilt we carry is weighing us down. Yet, the Apostle Paul reminds us that because Jesus, we can finally cut ties with the baggage of guilt.
When we feel anger, our emotions tell us it’s 100 percent someone else’s fault. But James, the brother of Jesus, has something different to say. When we take a step back and acknowledge what the problem really is, we can finally cut ties with the anger baggage that has weighed us down for far too long.
God is a God of Mercy and it is our number one weapon against evil. It is also the door to our own freedom. Mercy = "Love in action," the way God plans to restore this world.
These are the things we value here at A Fresh Wind. When we ask you to be partners we are asking you to embrace these 4 things into your own life. Wholeness: A contentment based on Christ being sufficient for every area of life. Integrity: Living a life worthy of imitation. Nurturing: Cultivating growth in others. Dynamic faith: Living a faith that inspires others to faith in Christ. This is who I want to be. Come with me…
We have all experienced tests of our faith—situations that require us to trust that God will provide. In these times, the question becomes: How do we respond? Do we allow fear and doubt to control us, or do we trust God with an extreme faith?
