A family friend of Walter Eugene Owens wants to set the record straight on who ‘Uncle Gene’ was.

In 2015, Robert Jason Owens implicated his uncle as the person who allegedly shot and killed 18-year-old Zebb Quinn in January of 2000.

However, his friend calling foul on Jason’s story.

News 13 goes into Alexander Correctional Institution for a one-on-one with Robert Jason Owens, the man convicted of a triple murder and connected to the murder of Zebb Quinn.

Owens implicates he’s Uncle Walter Eugene Owens as the killer, telling investigators his uncle was allegedly hired as a hitman because of Quinn’s involvement with a girl.

However, the case wouldn’t make it into a courtroom for seven years. Many of the people implicated in Jason’s story have passed away…days after Eugene Owens died, Jason is charged with First Degree Murder of Zebb Quinn.
