In this new moon meditation, we are practicing a meditation technique called mental noting, or labeling. This is a useful technique on and off the cushion. On the cushion, it helps us build concentration and stay present and attuned to this present moment experience. Off the cushion, it helps quiet reactivity and build spaciousness, giving us the opportunity to pause before reacting.
