Isaiah 44 opens with Yahweh destroying the practice of idol worship. Then he ties up our Isaiah text with the most beautiful call to return to Him. Y’all it’s real in the Word. He utterly condemns the evil but He loves His kids. Jesus speaks to His inevitable return. Job, well he’s still a mess.

Isaiah 42:10-43:28; Luke 16-17:10; Job 9:25-35 all have a thread in common. Each of our readings show us both the powerful mercy of Yahweh upon His children and unrelenting justice upon the disobedient enemies.

In our Christian coffee cup culture where verses are overused and misplaced, consider sticking Isaiah 41:24 right there. We are reading from Isaiah 41, Luke 15, and Job 9

Ignore the part where Mark tries to sing Hansel’s Messiah, and you’ll be just fine. We are reading Isaiah 39-40; Luke 14; and Job 9:11-19.
