Nadine Tussey shows us what’s possible after dropping out of school at age 17 due to life's circumstances, and returning to complete a GED program, followed by a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. She shares her tales and perspectives as a life long learner and teacher of a program for students seeking a GED. Right on Nadine!

Dee Doiron, age 83, talks about fun with friends, 50 years running a ski bus, volunteering with Americorps, grieving the loss of loved ones, and about showing up. Dee shares stories of living through highs and lows, and provides her advice on navigating life and setting one's self up for success. 

In the spirit of International Women's Day, Mary Mayorquin, takes us on a ride through her journey as a young adult working with girls in Nicaragua, through the challenges her family faced this past year as a bi-racial family, and through breakthroughs and wins she’s experienced as a woman working at Starbuck’s. As  developer of its core coffee, Siren’s Blend, which elevates women’s leadership and sustainable farming practices, and honors the innovations of women, from farmer, to roaster to barista, Mary shines a light on progress for women in the work place, and in the coffee space. 

Alex Rogers, a beloved co-worker and friend, shares her experiences growing up in Romania in the 80's and 90's during a time of personal and national transition, and of how she found her way to a new life in the United States. We talk fabulous family, satisfying work, ongoing personal growth, and remarkable relationships. Alex is a gem!

Ken Winkley, age 85,  joins us to talk history, and about the challenges of opening a new college in the late 60”s. Ken, a founding member of The Evergreen State College, invigorates a renaissance to ensure that the opportunity of collaborative, integrative, inclusive learning cements its place in higher educational offerings for future students.  He takes us on a journey of looking back to provide valuable clues for moving forward. 

Julia Pribic, one of my dear sisters, shares her heartwarming story  of her journey of trying to have children in the face of fertility challenges, and finding transition as her children near adulthood, determining what’s next as a person, a citizen, and as a mom of twins, triplets, and a child with special needs. She shows us that when the universe calls us to action in ways that move us, mountains can be moved!

Leo and Nicholas, 12, show us how to move and shake through a pandemic by building great friendships, and by building a garden cart business to benefit the food bank while building community! These spectacular citizens and generous spirits share their story of what two kind, capable, and connected kids can accomplish while working with each other, their families, and their community. Fantastic!

Carly Samish L.Ac., gives us a look into her work with Hospice and the world of caring for those with terminal illness. Along the way, we explore the broader context of death and dying. We all head that direction, we might as well talk about it! Carly, a magnificent human being, shares fresh perspectives that inspire a sense of peace around end of life realities. She takes us on a surprisingly uplifting ride!

Jerry Coffee, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and director of Honolulu Institute for Human Services, shares his experience running a Covid quarantine and a respite transitional home for the homeless population of Hawaii, where an estimated 5000 homeless individuals reside. Smart, funny, kind, and compassionate, Jerry brings out the best in everyone he meets. He's an impeccable human being caring for our most vulnerable citizens during this precarious time.
