The event which started the two party system in Australia as we know it now, this episode is perhaps one of the most relevant to the rest of Australia's history going forward. In addition, we discuss the end of the Nimrod Expedition, Douglas Mawson's first trip to Antarctica, as well as the 1909 Broken Hill Miners Strike.

Its legacy, that of a fair and reasonable wage for all Australians, is one that is still felt to this day.
