A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is a prequel series to Game of Thrones set about a century before the events of that show. The series is based on a collection of novellas by George R.R. Martin, known as the Dunk & Egg stories, which follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall, a young and naive knight, and his squire, Egg, who is later revealed to be King Aegon V Targaryen. The show is currently in pre-production and is expected to premiere on Max in late 2025. Martin is heavily involved in the project, serving as writer and executive producer, and he has expressed a desire to adapt the remaining Dunk & Egg stories if The Hedge Knight is successful.
