Whether it's anger, pride, lust, or inadequacy, those exact points of struggle are where God desires us to grow. Drawing from James 4, we discover that spiritual growth requires resistance, and resistance demands strength—but not the kind that leaves us exhausted. The revolutionary truth here is that our strength comes from God's 'more grace,' an endless supply of amazing grace that meets us exactly where we are. Before James even mentions resisting the devil or drawing near to God, he points us to grace. This isn't just the grace that saved us once; it's the same grace that sustains us daily. Romans 5:20 reminds us that where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. Paul's thorn in the flesh teaches us that God's grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in our weakness. We're invited to shift our perspective—to stop boasting in our strength and instead glory in our weakness, because that's where Christ's power rests upon us. The Holy Spirit dwelling within us provides a jealous love that refuses to let us go, a flame hotter than any temptation. When we understand that God is more dedicated to us than we are to Him, we can face our struggles knowing that victory isn't about our effort but about remaining in the One who has already conquered.
