Motherhood is a wild ride. I once heard someone describe it as a roller coaster. The early years you are ticking up the big hill. Then you are propelled into the twists turns, drops, and speed of the ride. You land at the station dazed and confused and all of a sudden it's over. I am currently at something called the Declare Rally Retreat. My friend and I host a weekend retreat for women to step out of the day-to-day grind in order to step into a dream they have. We lead sessions to encourage their calling, brainstorm together, and give them time to work on their hopes and dreams. I realized in the middle of the night that I am exactly where I am supposed to be doing exactly what I should be doing in this season. I thought I wanted a "real" job (which I still do), but realized this weekend that sometimes we don't get what we want because we are already doing it.
