  • Episode 37: Suffer Strong Because Hope Heals with Katherine Wolf

Hi everyone! We are so excited for this weeks episode. Katherine Wolf is one of our biggest inspirations. Jay & Katherine Wolf’s story is nothing short of extraordinary. We are so thankful for this sweet new friendship and for this conversation. We hope you enjoy.

Suffer Strong is Jay & Katherine new book. Here is the book bio:

“When life shatters, how do we find hope and joy again? After miraculously surviving a near-fatal brainstem stroke at age 26, life for Katherine and Jay Wolf changed forever - and so did the way they viewed the world. There was no going back to normal from such a tragedy. Yet Katherine and Jay learned that suffering is not the end, but the beginning of a new and profoundly beautiful story.

Together, they found new ways to live fully and celebrate hope in the midst of daily struggles and life-long disabilities. As they learned to not waste their pain and embrace a new perspective on life after catastrophic loss, Katherine and Jay discovered the unexpected gifts of suffering - a new identity, courage in the face of fear, and grace to flourish in a good and hard life. With brave transparency and enduring hope, Katherine and Jay share how the hardest moments led to supernatural strength - not in spite of pain but because of it. Suffer Strong is a bold invitation to trusting a known God in the midst of an unknown future, to open our eyes to the hidden treasures and see how, even in the dark, new life is born.

With hope, humour, and joy, Katherine and Jay show us how to survive anything by redefining how we think about everything”. Have you ever felt alone Suffering? In your pain? Katherine reminds us of the hope that comes when we know the creator of the universe.

  • Episode 36: From Surviving to Thriving with Holly Christine Hayes

Human Trafficking is one of those things we often hear about, think about for a few minutes and then brush it aside. A large part of that dismissal comes with a sense of misunderstanding and representation. Trafficking is often associated with third world developing countries. Holly Christine Hayes is not only someone who has experienced sexual trafficking but has devoted her life to helping other survivors. Not overseas, but right in her home of Austin Texas.

Human trafficking is the process of trapping people through the use of violence, deception or coercion and exploiting them for financial, sexual or personal gain. The most common cases in developed countries occur in relationships often founded in addiction and distress.

Holly runs The Sanctuary Project, a not for profit organisation devoted to helping survivor return to work and their lives.

  • Episode 34: Finding True Rest with Curtis Zackery

If you are anything like me, rest is probably one of the hardest skills you can learn. The times when I do rest, I find myself just watching tv relaxing or reading. As you will learn today though, rest is so much more than just taking a break from our busy lives. True, and meaningful rest is about intently taking the time to reflect and be at peace with God. For our guest today Curtis Zachery, he uses his time of rest to remember that no matter how busy we are, at the end of the day, we live to appreciate what God has done for the world.

In today's episode, Abi and Paige spoke with Curtis about the importance of true rest on Sundays, (but not in the way you might think) as well as how one of our biggest shortcomings as people is doing things "for God" so that..." as opposed to purely living from God and lastly.

Curtis is an author, speaker and current pastor at the Church of the City in Franklin Tennesse. His latest book, Finding Soul Rest, a 40 Day devotional is out now.. Well, thats it from me, for now, folks, take care and enjoy this incredible conversation with Curtis Zachery.

  • Episode 33: You Be You with Jamie Ivey

Who out there struggles to just be yourself? This episode is for you. Between Instagram “highlight reels” and “picture-perfect” editing, today’s culture makes it easy to believe that the grass is always greener on the other side. Bombarded with messages that everyone else is living a better life, and hustling more is the key to achieving their goals, women are overwhelmed as they seek contentment and God’s calling for their lives. In this week’s episode, we are joined with Abi’s favourite author Jamie Ivey to talk about the importance of you being you and changing the narrative to be each other’s cheerleaders rather than comparers. Enjoy this conversation.
