  • Episode 28: Looking Back on Season One

To help wrap up the very first season of A Love Like This, we thought we would share a few of our favourite moments from the past seven months. We were blessed with so many guests who have had an incredible impact on our lives, and hopefully now yours.

In our very first introduction episode, we said we wanted this podcast to be about sharing the memories, stories and experiences that helped shape our lives. I think it's fair to say we accomplished just that. Our cousin Charlize got to share the story of losing her best friend Paris, our parents shared some of their greatest life lessons, past high school teachers brought to light some incredible revelations about faith and God but most importantly, this season brought us closer to the people that matter most to us in life.

We had no idea what 2020 would have in store, not only us but the entire world, however, one thing we did know is that it was a dream to begin a podcast this year. You guys, the people listening have made this dream come to life and that will forever mean so much to us, more than you will ever know.

We hope that as this year wraps up, you would reflect and be still joyful expectancy for what God will bring into your 2021. Thank you, guys.

  • Episode 27: A Love Like This Christmas Special!

The reason why Christmas is a really special time of year because it's one of the only times that we feel like everyone is present, no pun intended.

You know other times of the year there are all these distractions. Work, study relationships. All of these things but around Christmas time, lots of our worries seem to go away. There is just a shared excitement and feeling of love.

We also think that Christmas is a time of reflection. It helps us to reset and think back to the year we have had. And we know most will say 2020 was a challenging year, and for some it really was. But so was 2019, and 2018 and 2001. Every year can be terrible if that's how we want to look at it. But this year brought us all closer to our families, centred us to what really matters in life and blessed us with new opportunities which maybe never would have happened.

  • Episode 26: Learning to Forgive with Emma Gough

I think it's fair to say we have all been in a situation where we feel conflicted to forgive. When we feel hurt or upset it sometimes seems like the last thing we want do is forgive. The worst part, when we feel like giving someone forgiveness they are normally held close to our hearts. At the centre of forgiveness is love. And we didn't call the show A Love Like this for no reason.

Today we chat with our high school teacher and friend, Emma Gough to help breakdown what having faith means in terms of forgiveness, our experiences with forgiving and most importantly, how you can break through the wall of feeling guilty for not immediately wanting to forgive.
