I'm so pumped to finally announce my new school for artists!
A MIGHTY PRACTICE IS AN UNCONVENTIONAL SCHOOL FOR THE CREATIVE SOUL. Through classes and coaching we give artists of all levels what they need to get started and stay motivated in their creative work. You don’t need a BFA, MFA, or hell, a high school diploma to be an artist. But you do need some tools. Tools to get started, build some habits, get feedback, and learn how to trust yourself. At A Mighty Practice, we work to empower artists – working artists and those who may not yet know they’re artists – to give themselves permission, develop their voices, and cultivate their creative lives.

In this episode I'll talk about the experience of "feeling embarrassed" about your creative work and how this feeling can be useful to us. I'll explain embarrassment (or increased self-consciousness) as a normal part of the self-discovery process, and how we need to lean into the feeling vs. push it away in order to grow.
In this episode I'll talk about how I define creative burnout. I'll talk about why creative burnout happens and what we can do about it. I'll differentiate between burnout and overwhelm and how to approach these two states differently in your creative work.

In this episode I'll talk about the concept of "enabling constraints" - limiting conditions that allow you to make confident choices in your creative work. I'll talk about why we need constraints in our practices, how to set them, and artists we can look to for some helpful examples.
We often think of jealousy as an ugly emotion that we should quickly dismiss. In this episode I'll talk about how jealousy, when used with intention and self-compassion, can be a useful tool for understanding ourselves better.
Reflection questions:
In this episode, I'll talk about what to do when you feel stuck and your next step is not evident to you. I'll talk about what the "clear phase" is in my process, and how to use this stage to help you get back on track.

In this episode, I'll talk about the concept of "tunneling" - when we get obsessed with solving a particular problem and getting immediate results in our creative work. I'll talk about the difference between "the tunnel" and "flow" and how these two states are easily confused. I'll also give you some tips on how to stop tunneling and experience greater balance in your creative practice.
My summer course, Creative Momentum: an 8-week course in building your creative practice is now enrolling!

The book I reference in this episode:
This brief episode will introduce the concept of self-created certainty and the power of having a routine in your creative work. Stay tuned for a deeper dive on these topics.
In this episode, I'll talk about the feeling of "being careful" or when we feel scared to make new decisions in our creative work and as a result get stuck. I'll talk about why we're careful, how you know you're being careful, and what you can do to STOP being so damn careful.
