A few days ago the Israeli government approved a controversial proposed law dealing with the draft into the IDF of Haredi Yeshiva students. Instead of mandating larger numbers they actually reduced it. It's not just Haredim not serving. According to the IDF spokesman office, in 2019 only 69% of all eligible men were drafted and only only 56% of all eligible  women. Is the IDF as a people’s army?
