A combination of two very young men that will be canonized on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. They are Carlo Acutis, born in 1991 and died in, I believe, 2006 and Pier Giorgio Frassati born in 1901 and died in 1924. They were both full of life and joy but accomplished ao much in their short lives. Carlo has documented all of the Eucharistic Miracles over the ages on his website while Pier Giorgio constantly gave to the poor and cared deeply for the people of Turin, Italy where he lived. Frank Sinatra at Patsy's Restaurant always requested the check when he dined there. On this one occasion, he called ahead of time to make a reservation for a party of four but, importantly, his guests were to be offered the check at the end of the meal. That's when the fun begins with his guest's credit card. Only about five minutes long but hope you enjoy.

Salt, while just a commodity in our society has a very rich history for all of mankind. This episode covers the first recognition of  the importance of salt in China and the subsequent recognition that it was provided in Europe when Marco Polo brought it to Venice in the late 13th Century. Salt was esteemed by royalty and many wars have been fought over its dominance. In fact, it was a major factor in the colonies succeeding from England. There are many kinds of salt including refined and unrefined. We currently use refined salt as a common table salt but unrefined salt has more vitamins and minerals.

Essentially, this is a five minute or so tribute to a very special human being and a great performer. Harry Chapin lived a comparatively short life-only 38 years but he packed so much life into those years. As a performer and story teller, he was loved so much by his audiences that, to this day, they know exactly when and where they attended a concert. Audiences would attend every time he was in close proximity because it was virtually a love affair. Harry just gave and gave. He was also known for his work for other people-notably the hungry. He could not cope with the fact that there are hungry people in the world when we have the ability to feed so many here in the US and around the world. Hope you enjoy!
