  • A Little Therapy, A Lotta Kickback

This week on A Pod Named Kickback, we started with a real conversation about depression, mental health, and the importance of checking in on yourself. We talked about health screenings, the difference between being screened and receiving a diagnosis, and why taking care of YOU matters.

Then we got back to the fun! 😂 We covered the viral Dara vs. Wanda moment from The Drop, the Savannah James first-class vs. business-class vacation debate, Halle Berry’s wild parenting moment, and the unnecessary comments about Jasmine Guy aging. We wrapped with the Nipsey Hussle Award, some nostalgia, and our Eargasm/Netflix & Chill picks. It was funny, messy, nostalgic, and definitely a good Kickback.

  • Cancel Culture: Forgive or boycott forever?

This week on A Pod Named Kickback, we ask one of the biggest questions in today’s culture: Can people truly redeem themselves after making mistakes, or has cancel culture replaced forgiveness? From the Toast on Lenox controversy to celebrities accused of supporting MAGA, we debate whether apologies, growth, and changed behavior still matter—or if some actions deserve a lifetime boycott. We also dive into the viral trend of white people trying melanin shots, drinks, and supplements to get darker skin, and ask: is this appreciation, appropriation, or something else entirely?

Plus, we break down Boosie’s lawsuit over his alleged $600K pardon payment, the comments about Angel Reese that sparked backlash, and why Kamala Harris earns this week’s Nipsey Hussle Award. As always, we wrap things up with Netflix & Chill and Eargasm to send you into the week right.

About A Pod Named Kickback

From the publisher's feed

I’m No Brakes Nu’, host of A Pod Named Kickback. I spent 20 years as a rapper from DC who has appeared on 106 & Park, MTV’s Direct Effect and became a legend in DC and the DMV for selling my CD’s out of the trunk of my car and making fire music and music videos that watched like short movies. Never forget. I launched my internet radio show in April of 2012. The last few years I switched it to an official podcast and on this podcast I discuss the biggest stories in pop culture, politics, music, sex, and sports. Guests range from Cari Champion to Rula Jebreal to Freeway Ricky Ross, Lex P. And Drea of Pour Minds, TahoeTV, NBA players like Demar Johnson and hits of others. Some weeks I find one idea I’d like to discuss and solely focus on that with my co host Get Fit With Jacq 🤷🏾‍♂️ and sometimes I invite some of the brightest, most engaging and entertaining minds I can find to have these discussions with me on my virtual kickback. Don’t tell anyone but sometimes I invite listeners on the podcast too. I record live at 7PM on Sunday nights on youtube. As I come up on my 12th year of edutaining you I only ask that you subscribe to the vibe and tell a friend to do so as well. #NoBrakes
