In this weeks episode I speak with Laura Greenwood, a psychotherapist in the UK that has forged her own path helping mothers through matrescence and motherhood to navigate mental health wellbeing, find their voice and who they are, and with the support that mothers don't often get. She spent a large part of her career in the NHS (National Healthcare System) in the UK before making the leap that came from feeling lost and her own mental health challenges during her maternity leave and postpartum.

In this weeks episode I speak with Zubeir Amani a Transformational Coach from Kenya that experienced a traumatic and debilitating back injury that left him bed bound for almost 3 months and in and out of hospital. Listen to his story of transformation on how he healed himself - by reframing his thoughts and childhood trauma.

Zubeir is a Transformational Coach and Speaker with a passion and mission to help individuals transform their lives from suffering to surfing through life. He believes no one's life struggles, pain and challenges are permanent nor should they be limiting anyone from having, doing and being their best. With his own life experiences of a paralyzing back problem, clinically depressed, hopeless and being suicidal to healing himself, restoring his emotional wellbeing and now a force of transformation for other people, he stands as a proof and inspiration to everyone who's life may seem to have been going down the hopeless and helpless hole. He believes that we're the source and creators of all our life experiences and indeed, we can choose to create our best life ever, whether it's instant healing, unconditional love, unlimited abundance, unimaginable success, or the most fantastic relationship ever.

In this weeks reflections we go back to the episode with Scott D Clary where he talks about his values.

Let me start with defining what values are:

Values are deeply held beliefs and principles that guide an individual's thoughts, actions, and behaviours. They represent what a person considers important, worthwhile, and meaningful in life. Personal values serve as a moral compass, influencing decision-making, goal-setting, and overall behaviour.

He talks about his values and what makes a good person:

What I like about what Scott highlights is a) his awareness of what his values are - ethics and moral values, empathy, emotional intelligence, coach ability, communication and b) that’s how he likes to live his life

He also structures his companies based on these values. Something interesting he says is he likes to hire people that like to win as much as he does - but that you can’t expect that of someone, unless they want to win as much as he goes - so how do you hire for that? Checking in on what people value - is it grit, determination. It’s an interesting yet powerful observation and one that can have a big impact on a team and organisation. When you understand what you value, and therefore what you value in others, that can help you design a team and organisation based on aligned values. 

It’s similar to when you are searching for a company to work for, or a leader/manager that you want to work with - or in a relationship. Are you aligned on values? Do you appreciate the same things?
