  • Raising Kind, Confident Kids

    — "My greatest wins as a mom stem from moments of failure."

A kinder, more compassionate world starts with kind and compassionate kids. In Raising Good Humans, you'll find powerful and practical strategies to break free from "reactive parenting" habits and raise kind, cooperative, and confident kids.

Whether you're running late for school, trying to get your child to eat their vegetables, or dealing with an epic meltdown in the checkout line at a grocery store—being a parent is hard work! And, as parents, many of us react in times of stress without thinking—often by yelling. But what if, instead of always reacting on autopilot, you could respond thoughtfully in those moments, keep your cool, and get from A to B on time and in one piece?

With this book, you'll find powerful mindfulness skills for calming your own stress response when difficult emotions arise. You'll also discover strategies for cultivating respectful communication, effective conflict resolution, and reflective listening. In the process, you'll learn to examine your own unhelpful patterns and ingrained reactions that reflect the generational habits shaped by your parents, so you can break the cycle and respond to your children in more skillful ways.

When children experience a parent reacting with kindness and patience, they learn to act with kindness as well—thereby altering generational patterns for a kinder, more compassionate future. With this essential guide, you'll see how changing your own "autopilot reactions" can create a lasting positive impact, not just for your kids, but for generations to come. An essential, must-read for all parents—now more than ever.

  • Spiritual Encounter — Healing From Beyond

    — "Communication with loved ones in Spirit is sometimes the only healing a person needs."

Valeria Teles interviews Esi Cakmakcioglu — the author of "Face to Face with Spirit: An Architect's Journey of Discovery."

As an architect and urban designer, Esi has been involved in projects in 12 different countries, traveled widely, and had a very busy life. She was introduced to the World of Spirit in 1987 in a spiritual seance, but It was not until the year 2000 when she found out about Spiritualism, and that there are over 600 spiritual churches and centers in the UK.

She loves learning but never kept a diary in her life until she discovered the World of Spirit. When she started her own spiritual development in 2000, and amazed with the new experiences, she started taking notes- which later helped her to put the book together.

Once she started, new doors kept opening. At each stage, her scientific and logical mind had to be satisfied with the good evidence to convince her that it was not her wild imagination before stepping into yet another new experience. And none of it was planned by her either.

Esi is a qualified and award-winning architect and urban designer with over 40 years of experience worldwide. Brought up in a family of scientists and artists, she was first introduced to the World of Spirit in1987 through Avicenna (Ibn'i Sina)- a well-known scholar (980- 1037)- starting a most amazing journey which also led her to become a spiritual medium, healer, and artist, followed by past life regression therapist, a clinical hypnotherapist in early 2,000s, and finally an author.

  • Have We Evolved To Eat In A Certain Way?

    — "The focus of the Paleo Diet is not on ratios, but on eating the foods we evolved to eat. The ratio is a by-product."

Valeria Teles interviews Trevor Connor — the owner of Paleo Diet, CEO of Fast Talk Laboratories, Writer, and Podcaster.

Trevor Connor is the CEO of The Paleo Diet, LLC. He was Dr. Loren Cordain's final graduate student at Colorado State University, where his research focused on the effects of a Paleo-style diet on autoimmune conditions. Working with Dr. Cordain, his pilot study included close to 60 volunteers with diverse conditions ranging from Crohn's disease to multiple sclerosis to Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Trevor comes from a varied background. After graduating from Cornell University in 1995 he started his career in website development. He soon followed his passion and became a semi-professional cyclist, training at the Canadian National Center in British Columbia where he became a coach and team manager. He later managed the Team Rio Grande cycling team—the top-ranked amateur team in America whose alumni include top-five Tour de France finisher Tejay van Garderen and Giro d'Italia stage winner Chad Haga.

Initially, Trevor studied exercise physiology and nutrition to support his own training and to improve his coaching. At 38, he decided it was time to hang up the bike; he moved to Colorado to get his masters degree in bioenergetics and nutrition. Trevor had studied traditional sports nutrition for over a decade, and when he took Dr. Cordain's class in 2009, he was highly skeptical of the Paleo Diet concept. But after experimenting with the diet, Trevor was able to return to the professional cycling ranks at 40, finishing in the top five in several races and establishing himself as the top ranked 40-plus rider in the country for several years running.

In addition to his role as CEO, Trevor writes the "Coach's Corner" section for the international cycling magazine VeloNews and co-hosts the popular endurance sports science podcast Fast Talk. Trevor is also CEO of Fast Talk Laboratories, LLC, a business dedicated to the science of endurance sports.
