The problem is that the accusations are true. We have failed him. We have been in situations where we knew we were supposed to speak up and speak out for him and we just didn’t because we wanted to avoid the trouble we thought it would cause us. Then the guilt of having hid or or having denied believing in Him sets in. What are we to do about the deep regret we have? The way Jesus handled Peter is the way he handles us. Don’t let Satan rob you of the help. You are forgiven.

As we grow self reliant, the need for a foundation does not go away. When crisis comes, it is very clear where your foundation lies.

With God, that sacrificial love is real and not just a story.

In his second letter, the apostle John teaches us that when we follow Christ because we have come to faith in Him, we will want to walk in the truth of His love and the truth of His word. That means that we trust His word implicitly just because it is His word, and it means that we will bring our lives in line with His word out of love for Him. It also means that we will try to lead as many people as possible to His truth.

God is the author of our lives and the sole Savior of our souls. He rightfully wants our exclusive devotion.

We learn so much about faith, walking with God, other people, and ourselves when going through what we perceive as bad, but it’s actually good and with that same thought process, what we may think is good, is actually bad.

Don't forget about all of the lessons you can learn on the journey. When you know Christ, you travel out from Christ sharing his light.

On 10/31/17, we will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. It’s that time in church history when God gave his Bible back to his people. The Bible text is from 1 Corinthians 2 where Paul urges the Corinthians to recognize that their entire Christian faith is built on the words of God that held up the Christ crucified for them. Today we reclaim our love for the word of God and its message of grace through Christ.
