In this EP I speak with Ryan Donahue. Ryan is in his eighth year with the San Francisco 49ers as the team's Director of Reconditioning. An accomplished leader, physical therapist, performance coach, keynote speaker, and reconditioning specialist, Ryan utilizes his background in both medicine and strength and conditioning to lead the reconditioning process, returning players from injury to full athletic competition.
Before joining the 49ers, Ryan spent the previous three years as a physical therapist at the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, FL where he provided rehabilitation for athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, Olympic Teams as well as US Special Forces and the general population.
Prior to the Andrews Institute, Ryan received his doctorate in physical therapy from Northeastern University in 2012, while also serving as assistant director of strength & conditioning for the university's Sports Performance department. He’s held previous affiliations with EXOS in a physical therapy role, as well as strength & conditioning affiliations with the University of Connecticut, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning.
Above all his accomplishments Ryan is a husband to his wife, Bridgette, and a father to his two sons, Carter and Charlie.
