You're going to need a stiff drink and a comfy chesterfield for this one, ideally you'd be seated next to a cosy fire with some flickering candle light dancing around the room. I love what Jason Fox writes, I love how he thinks and this conversation is an insight into what makes him such a great conversationalist.
We start by talking about making meaningful progress, future relevance, setting the torch to everything you've done and starting again. We meander through awakening from the meaning crisis, interconnected dividuals, ritual, relevance, insight porn and epistemological humility.
I love this conversation so much. I'm sure you will too. Links to references in this episode are below.
It's time for a change. Normal is broken and there's no 'going back'. At least I'm not, and I reckon there's plenty of you out there who feel the same.
So let's create a new normal.
In this episode I introduce a new Tuesday podcast series that I'll share each week for the next few months. Each episode will feature a lesson in self awareness and how what we can do as individuals to contribute to a better future.
I share what has happened for me over the past few months, lessons learned and how we might apply these together.
Trigger warning: this episode contains conversations about depression and suicide.
If you've not heard about Kath Koschel and the work she's doing, you will. She's making the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time. In this episode we dig into her personal story and it's one of the most incredible stories of adversity, resilience and courage I've heard.
Kath has transformed her life threatening challenges into a global kindness movement. She is one of the toughest, most courageous, brave, hardworking, humble and genuine people you'll meet. Kath has founded the Kindness Factory – an organisation and global movement that promotes kindness around the world. She's developed a curriculum that teaches kindness in schools, she's broken world records, she's an elite athlete in multiple sports, a Pride of Australia Medal recipient amongst so many other achievements. Oh, and she's training to swim the English Channel.
When you hear about what she's gone through to get here, you'll appreciate why she's such an inspiration.
Kath's drink pairing for this episode: Peach Kombucha
Kaths' soundtrack for this episode: 'Send Me On My Way' – Rusted Root

This is a conversation about living well and leaving a legacy that impacts lives for generations to come.
We're not great at talking about grief, it's difficult. And so when Tracey said she'd be honoured to discuss her experience and share the story of her daughter, Kiara, I was humbled.
And so we chatted. The lessons learned though heartbreak and loss are perhaps the most powerful. In this conversation I was reminded of how precious life is, how much of it we waste in worrying about the past and the future, and that the best way to deal with it all is to love hard.
Sometimes things are just a bit shit, and that's OK.
Sometimes you need to make a pot of tea.
Sometimes it's a shot of tequila, and that's OK too.
Sometimes you might need to crank Rage Against the Machine, loud.
It's all OK.
Even when it's not.
This episode is a reminder of that.
Stories are everywhere, and they have the power to change lives. What's yours? What would you like to share? Please share, you never know who needs to hear it.
There are three elements to a story - the story itself, the storyteller and the audience. In this episode I look at how to make the most of each.
And wine, there is wine.
Cheers.
In this episode I share a story that changed the way I see life and set me on the path to uncover, understand and share stories about what truly matters.
You've gotta start somewhere, right? Getting started, hitting 'launch', putting that thing you care about out there into the world, it's daunting. So here it is, a podcast for the curious – for those of you who want to know more about why it is we do what we do, so that we all might live a little more consciously and treat ourselves, each other and this planet with love.
