Important disclaimer: There are some high-pitched squealing and screaming moments in this episode, and it’s all Lauren’s fault. Not only does she share a spine-chilling Thanksgiving cryptid tale, but she also enlists ChatGPT to craft not one, but two terrifying stories—and they’re truly unsettling. Once Kenzie regains her composure, she dives into the heartbreaking case of Karen Mitchell, one of the Humboldt 5. Despite numerous theories and advancements in forensic technology, Karen’s disappearance remains unsolved nearly 30 years later. Tune in for a rollercoaster of fear and intrigue that will have you sleeping with the lights on…

This week, we’re off to Oregon, where strange events and eerie tales await! Kenzie delves into the history and hauntings of Astoria’s Flavel House Museum. This elegant Queen Anne-style mansion has graced the community for over a century—and is rumored to be haunted by members of the Flavel family. Next, Lauren investigates the mysterious cattle mutilations plaguing Oregon’s ranches. Experts agree these incidents aren’t the work of animals, but who—or what—could be responsible remains a mystery. Aliens, perhaps? Tune in and decide for yourself!

This week, we have a spooky special dedicated to stories that are of particular interest to Lauren! Kenzie’s goal is to tell Lauren something she *doesn’t* know about these specific stories. First, she will cover the history and crimes of Edmund “Ed” Kemper, also known as the Co-ed Killer. Kemper terrorized the Santa Cruz area in the early 1970s but wasn’t the only monster roaming the streets. Then, she will talk about the horrific crimes of Ariel Castro, who kidnapped and tortured his victims for 10 years before they found a way to escape. In each story, we will cover their impact on society and law enforcement. We hope you learn a thing or two after listening to this spooky special!

This week, we get real spooky and discuss our greatest fears! First, Kenzie shares her childhood traumas of being up high and how she discovered her fear of heights. She also shares terrifying stories of people falling to their deaths from exponential heights! Then, Lauren tells us all about elevator horror stories and people who have been buried alive, both accidentally and on purpose. Needless to say, if you are easily triggered talking about phobias, you may want to consider sitting this one out…

Happy Spooky Season! We are kicking it off with a spooky special about the dangers of the water! This could be ocean water, lake water, or even bottled water! Lauren starts us off with the heartbreaking tales of Jacob’s Well. This underwater cave is an excellent spot to practice your diving skills, but divers must beware of the dangers of chamber four. Next, Kenzie shares stories about Everglade National Park that are both fact and fiction. You’ll learn the history of the area, the animals that reside there, and how this swampy terrain has cost people their lives. Whether it's the murky depths of a swamp or the stillness of an underwater cave, there's always something lurking just out of sight, waiting to pull you under. Remember—some waters are better left undisturbed…

This week’s episode is a bit different from our usual format. While Lauren is out of town, Kenzie invites her good friend Allie to join her on the show! Instead of focusing on a specific state, Kenzie explores a particular topic: the profiles of serial killers. You’ll learn about current research on the characteristics and motivations of serial killers. In true teacher fashion, Allie’s true crime knowledge is put to the test with a pop quiz on the myths surrounding serial killer profiling. We hope you discover something new as you listen to this spooky solo(ish) special!

In this episode, we delve into two of Massachusetts' most unnerving legends. First, Kenzie sets sail to uncover the mystery of the cursed carving on the ship Maritana. This intricately carved figurehead of a woman is said to have brought misfortune and tragedy to all who had the carving placed at the bow of their ship. When she was finally retired from the sea, she continued to bring misfortune to the buildings and structures where she was stored. Then, Lauren discusses the eerie tale of the Black Flash, a shadowy figure who terrorized Provincetown in the late 1930s. Known for its speed and strength, the Black Flash baffled the town for years, leaving behind more questions than answers. Join us as we unravel these haunting stories from the Bay State's past.
