We’re headed to the Keystone State — Pennsylvania! We share two vastly different stories that have the same eerie question: are they fact or fiction? First, Lauren dives into the chilling case of Miranda Barbour, a young woman whose shocking confession blurs the line between truth and tall tale. Then, Kenzie unravels the legend of the Squonk, a pitiful creature said to wander Pennsylvania’s hemlock forests, weeping over its own less-than-desirable appearance. But when cornered, the Squonk’s sorrow takes an even stranger turn—and you’ll have to listen to find out what happens next. Join us as we investigate whether there’s any truth behind these heartbreaking stories.

This week’s October Spooky Special is extra special — we’re sharing cases that were brought to us directly by the victims’ families. First, Kenzie tells the story of Janice Lillie, a loving mother and pillar of her community whose life was tragically cut short in November 1991. Though there was a conviction, some pieces still don’t quite fit. Is this case truly solved, or is there more beneath the surface? Then, Lauren shares the story of Faithe Ely — a young woman who seemed to be turning her life around when she died in what was reported as a hit and run. Or was it? Questions surrounding Faithe’s cause of death continue to stir doubt about what really happened that night. Join us as we dig into the details, unravel the clues, and seek answers in these haunting cases.

Then, Kenzie dives into one of Wisconsin’s strangest UFO encounters—the bizarre case of Joe Simonton. In 1961, Joe claimed that aliens landed in his yard, asked him for water, and even shared pancakes with him. Was it a hoax, a dream, or one of the oddest alien encounters in American history? Join us as we uncover Wisconsin’s strange mix of political violence and extraterrestrial mystery!

This week, we’re diving into two stories of wealth, mystery, and maritime hauntings! First, Kenzie takes us into the scandalous life of Doris Duke, once called “the richest girl in the world.” From her turbulent personal relationships to the mysterious death of her companion, Doris’s story is a mix of glamour, power, and controversy that still fascinates true-crime and history buffs alike. Then, Lauren sets sail with the tale of the Palatine Ghost Ship, a spectral vessel said to appear off the coast of Rhode Island. Rooted in tragedy and whispered about for centuries, this ghostly legend has become one of New England’s most enduring maritime mysteries. Join us as we explore the chilling tales of Doris Duke and the Palatine Ghost Ship—two very different stories, bound together by intrigue and the supernatural.
