The Scout Oath and Law are so important to the Scouting movement that young people should take it seriously. In the American Scout Law, the first two keywords are Trustworthy and Loyal. The first two points of the Scout Law build upon an individual's honor which is part of the Scout Oath. It is impossible to be loyal to someone who is not trustworthy. Scouts and Scouters do what they have committed to. A scout tells the truth, and they are honest. Scouts keep their promises and you can depend on them. The best example of this is being on time. Scouts and Scouters keep their commitments and work hard towards helping others.
