A Shaggy Life

Today's world is full of safety lids, seat belt laws, restrictions and many other things that have been created and forced upon us for safety's sake. When I look back at some of the things we did as kids in the 70s I often wonder how we made it to adulthood.

This episode has a list of things that my friends and I did but probably should not have done. We made it through every one of these events without major injury.

A flashbulb memory is a vivid memory about an emotionally significant event, usually a historic or other notable event. People often experience these memories in photographic detail, and can recall aspects like what they were doing when the event occurred or how they learned about what happened.

Todd and I got lucky enough to interview Gene Simmons in 2017 but missed out on the Paul Stanley interview. Fast forward seven years and we got to complete our interviews of the founders of the rock group KISS. Gene and Paul are partners in Rock & Brews restaurants and they built one in Braman, OK. Stayton and I have been best friends for 50 years now! He moved into the neighborhood on W. Broadway and we became instant companions. One of the places we spent hours and hours was his house. 

Stayton had his own room upstairs, a trampoline in the backyard and the garage in which we built our haunted mazes. Therefore we spent much of our time hanging around his place.

His home at 1523 W. Broadway is currently for sale and they had an open house this weekend. I decided to pop in and take a stroll down memory lane. I don't think I've been in the house in over 40 years. I've narrated some video of the home to give you all a glimpse into our 70s lifestyle. Enjoy!

Hey Shaggheads! Here’s an update or Part 2 of my Million Step Challenge. I didn’t get my million steps in 30 days. But! I did get them all in 29 days! How, why, what, when and where you might be asking. This blog post/podcast episode is a recap of my million step adventure.

I call this an adventure because that’s what I turned it into. It was something I didn’t know if I could do at age 61 and every day I wasn’t sure how I was going to squeeze in all of my steps.

This did turn into a big month long adventure and I think I inspired several people to start walking and others to up their steps to another level. #onemillionsteps
